Audra McDonald kicks off fall 2015 concert tour with American Classics at the Hollywood Bowl

audra-mcdonald-2013-theater-autumn-de-wilde-2 copyThis September, Audra brings classics from Broadway and the American Songbook to Los Angeles for two performances at the Hollywood Bowl. Bramwell Tovey leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic in program of Bernstein, Rogers and Hammerstein, and other American favorites that also features a performance by the talented dancers of the American Ballet Theatre. Continuing her North American tour, the six-time Tony winner performs at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, California on September 5. Following two concerts with the Minnesota Orchestra (Sept 10, 11), Audra can be seen in at the University Musical Society in Ann Arbor, Michigan (Sept 17), with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra (Sept 19), in Kansas City for the Harriman-Jewell Series (Sept 26). October highlights include concerts at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing arts in Storrs, Connecticut (Oct 8), at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts in Greenville, South Carolina (Oct 13), and the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts (Oct 25).

Audra completes her fall tour with a series of concerts in Australia, visiting Melbourne and Sydney from October 31 to November 7.

Audra’s Covenant House 2015 Broadway Sleep Out campaign extended through Aug 12

Audra Sleep OutDue to the generosity of supporters, Audra has extended her 2015 Broadway Sleep Out campaign through noon EDT on Wednesday, August 12. To further encourage people to give, for those who donate at the $2,250 level, Audra will not only meet you and a guest for hot chocolate at Sardi’s, but will also give a personal tour of Covenant House and a short private performance before she sleeps out.

Audra Ricki and the FlashAudra McDonald stars opposite Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline in Jonathan Demme’s new film Ricki and the Flash, in theaters today. The comedy-drama follows fading rockstar Ricki Randazzo (Streep) as she tries to mend the relationship with her estranged family, dealing with the consequences of her pursuit of stardom. Audra plays the role of the new wife to Pete (Kline), Maureen, the steadfast foil to Ricki’s impulsive character.
